Sataline joins WSJ New York office

The Wall Street Journal The Wall Street Journal has a new reporter in New York. Suzanne Sataline, 212-416-2527, recently left the Boston bureau, where she served as a religion reporter, to join the New York office as a New York regional reporter for the law group. Yepsen exits Des Moines Register

The Des Moines Register has lost a political reporter. David Yepsen recently departed the paper to serve as director of the Paul Simon Public Policy Institute at Southern Illinois University. He had been a political columnist at the paper since 2000 and first joined the paper in 1974. Yepsen continues to serve as a reporter for the show Iowa Press, as well as the host of The Iowa Journal. Cox Scott Shepard leaves his post as correspondent for the Cox Newspapers' Washington bureau and follows the lead of a series of reporters who have left journalism to become government appointees. He had taken his position in 1986, previously having been with the Associated Press in Montgomery, Ala., Atlanta and Washington.

His last day with the network is Feb. 27; however he will continue to serve as a contributor to This Week with George Stephanopoulos. Media Images - Tribune The Chicago Tribune has made staff reductions, letting go of a portion of their newsroom staff. Features reporter Don Terry, enterprise projects reporter Susan Chandler, Rome correspondent Christine Spolar, Middle East correspondent Joel Greenberg and features reporter Emily Nunn were all let go as part of the Tribune's cost-cutting effort. New York daily names publisher

Chicago Sun-Times editor in chief to cross border to Toronto Star

Chicagosuntimes Michael Cooke, 312-321-2079, currently the editor in chief of the Chicago Sun-Times, will join the Toronto Star March 1 as the editor. Cooke is rejoining former colleague John Cruickshank, the Star's current publisher, and former publisher of the Chicago Sun-Times and COO of the Chicago Sun-Times Media Group. Cooke returned to the Sun-Times in January 2006 after serving as editor in chief for the Daily News in New York from February 2005 until December 2006. In addition, he is exiting his role as president and CEO of the Sun-Times Media Group. Freidheim was appointed to president and CEO of the media group in November 2006 after serving as director since October 2005. He was named publisher of the Sun-Times in October 2007. Costas joins MLB Network

Bobcostas The MLB Network has landed Bob Costas and tapped him to host original programming that will focus on baseball's history and most important figures. He will remain with NBC as the host of Football Night in America but his HBO show, Costas Now, will go off the air.
